Ravleen Kaur Brar
Grade 8 (Humanities, Social Science, English, Math)
Ravleen is a third-year student at the University of British Columbia pursuing a major in political science, minor in history, and a master of management in the dual degree program. She intends to become a high school teacher for social science and business classes. Her interests include learning about human rights issues and the rich histories of communities in Canada.

Pooja Prasad
(French, Social Studies, English)
Pooja is currently enrolled in her second year at Simon Fraser University as part of the French Cohort Program. She is an aspiring high school teacher and is very passionate about making learning a fun and comfortable environment for everyone. Pooja spends most of her free time cooking and baking, and uses it as a creative outlet to try new things.

Vani Sharma
(Math, Science)
Vani is currently studying Biology at UBC. In her free time, she likes being outdoors, painting and watching Disney movies. She loves giving back to the community; whether it's modelling, spending time with residents in a care home, or volunteering with animals. She is excited to continue giving back to her community with this program.

Nicolas Umuyashiki
(Japanese)
Nicolas studies at Capilano University here at British Columbia but is currently living in Japan. Originally from BC, his family made a huge decision to move to Japan when he was just a toddler. Nicolas says that while his mother tongue is Japanese, he is continuously improving his English proficiency. In Japan, he teaches English to Japanese students, and here he hopes to teach Japanese for those who wish to learn it.

Thenuja Liyanage
(Math)
Thenuja is a Grade 12 student at Maple Ridge Secondary and plans on studying engineering in university. Some of his hobbies include playing classical guitar, badminton, and swimming. Thenuja says that his vision as a tutor is to help students truly understand some of the key concepts of math.

Nethkini Liyanage
Grades 1-6 (English, Math, Science)
Nethkini is a grade 10 student at Maple Ridge Secondary school and she enjoys playing the piano, painting, swimming, baking, and learning new things. She loves volunteering and giving back to her community and she is very much excited to help students with science, math, and English.

Tegh Gill
(Math, Science, and English)
Tegh is currently in Grade 10 attending Southpointe Academy, a private school. He enjoys reading, math, solving puzzles, and playing basketball. Tegh's goal is to provide students with help of Math, Science, and English in different areas to help them excel in school. He really likes to help children through the difficult times of school years and hopes to help them get through it. Tegh is currently excelling in all these subjects at school averaging 93+ percent.

Thomas Wood
(Math)
Thomas is currently a grade 12 student, aspiring to study engineering at the University of British Columbia. While Thomas is focused on his academics, in his free time he also love to play soccer!

Nitisha Dhir
(Science, Humanities)
Nitisha is currently a fourth year Arts student majoring in Political Science with minors in Law and Society at the University of British Columbia. Ever since grade 8th onwards, Nitisha involved herself in volunteer tutoring to children below poverty line and also tutor students of grade 10 and 11 in the field of Economics and Political science. Apart from tutoring, Nitisha loves to spend her idle time playing basketball and learning new languages. Currently, she is undertaking French. As tutoring has always remained her passion, through Inner Light Foundation, Nitisha aims to help students in developing critical thinking skills and help them in becoming a valuable and respected citizen of the society.

Kashish Chopra
Grades 2-7 (Math, Science, English)
Kashish is a second-year university at KPU and is planning to go to Law School. He has extensive experience working and tutoring elementary students through different venues. Kashish loves to play and watch basketball as well as tennis. He also loves to help the community and has started and organized numerous campaigns for social causes. Kashish hopes to be more than just a tutor and looks forward to working with you!

Sukhmani Sandhu
Social Studies, Science, French
Sukhmani is currently in Grade 11. She enjoys baking, spoken word poetry, drawing blueprints, and Marvel movies. Her goal is to not only help students with academics, but to become someone they can trust and ask for help from.

Eknoor Toor
(Social Studies, Math, Science)
Eknoor is a Grade 12 student at École Panorama Ridge Secondary. She enjoys reading mystery novels and painting. Eknoor believes that education is a valuable tool and is looking forward to helping our youth develop this tool and flourish.

Ravleen Kullar
Grades 1-5 (English, Science, Math)
I am a grade 10 student at tamanawis secondary school. I love listening to music and learn new things. I also like to volunteer at my school library, I am able to talk to new people and learn new things from them. I like to help children and make them understand something that they find difficult.

Rhea Arora
(Science)
Rhea is currently a second year science student, majoring in Biology at the University of British Columbia. Alongside baking and painting, Rhea shares a passion towards helping others by actively involving herself within the community.

Harmeet Virdee
(Music Theory, Humanities/English, Math, Science)
Harmeet is currently in her first year of Jazz Studies at Capilano University. Aside from music, she also enjoys learning about math and physics, as well as painting, sketching, and helping/playing with children.

Roopjit Sahota
(Science)
Roopjit is a 4th year kinesiology student at SFU. In her free time, she loves to go hiking, camping, and snowboarding. Roopjit also works at developmental disabilities association, where she helps individuals with disabilities.

Chanya Chawla
(English, Science)
Chanya is hoping to major in Economics and International Relations while she studies at UBC. Like most of us, she has described herself as someone who "loves eating and sleeping". She also is keen to volunteering and advocates youth empowerment

Ravneet Kaur
Grade 5,6, and 8 (Math) & Grade 6,7 and 8 (French)
I am a first year student studying Business Administration at KPU. I love to write poems and enjoy painting. One of my hobbies is to play badminton. I like to volunteer and help people. I have volunteered in various places like my school library and clubs. I love to work with children and would be happy to help them.

Baljit Panesar
Grade 1-2 (Math, Literacy) grade 3-4 (Math, Science)
Baljit is a grade 12 student at Tamanawis Secondary School. She likes to read books, dance, help people, play soccer, and sing. Her favorite subjects are Math, Science, French, and Art.

Amaris Padamshi
(English, Science, Math)
Amaris is currently studying Biological Sciences and Business at SFU. He worked at Kumon prior to the pandemic, and as such, has plenty of experience with tutoring. Amaris loves to play basketball, and is enthusiastic about working with anyone!

Gian Franco Soquena
Math, Science, English
Gian is a 2nd year UBC student studying Microbiology and Immunology. During his spare time, he likes to sing, play the guitar, and draw.
